Valentines Mansion and Park

Client: London Borough of Redbridge

Valentines Mansion and Park was built in 1696-7 as a private country residence and is Grade II* listed. Hockley & Dawson's involvement began with the resoration of the Mansion, including the repair of external fabric of the building and the attached Dairy wing. This extended to the repair and strengthening of the floors and roof structure and the rebuilding of the porte cochere. Subsequently Hockley & Dawson's involvement was extended to include the park buildings and associated structures including the Grotto, Dovecote, Long Canal and new cafeteria.

Royal Hospital Chelsea

Client: The Royal Hospital Chelsea

The Royal Hospital Chelsea was built by Sir Christopher Wren to house veteran soldiers and their officers. It is home to the familiar 'red jacketed' Chelsea Pensioner. The complex of buildings dates back to the late 17th Century and many are Grade 1 listed. The buildings comprise of an infirmary and residential accommodation for the pensioners. Hockley & Dawson has been associated with the refurbishment of this project since 2007.
