Retaining Wall Surrey

Background

A client approached H&D; they had a significant issue with a failed retaining wall situated in their rear garden.

H&D were able to provide a prompt and pragmatic solution by designing a new reinforced hollow block wall and foundations, which allowed for the reuse of the original feature stone facing of the wall.

The retaining wall at this site was significantly compromised due to structural failure, caused by previous drainage works.

The wall was showing visible cracks and signs of movement and required temporary propping. Sections of the wall had begun to bow outward. The failure led to the destabilization of the surrounding area, presenting a potential risk of further damage and collapse.

Following the recommended remedial works, the retaining wall was rebuilt using a reinforced hollow block retaining wall and faced with an Indian sandstone.  The wall is now vertically aligned, with reinforced footings and improved drainage systems.
