Project Overview
A Grade II* mainly thirteenth century church (with Victorian aisle), St Swithun’s is located in the village of Brookthorpe within the heart of Gloucestershire.
Under the care of the Churches Conservation Trust, we have conducted crack monitoring and provided advice since 1998. Issues associated with subsidence have been a key issue at this site with the area generally underlain by clay with high volume change potential.
Our involvement has included advice on further investigations, monitoring, specifying repairs, and detailed permanent stabilisation design including piled underpinning.
